Despite the difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County continues to help local people buy their first home.

Still, this momentous occasion feels even more meaningful at this time. Habitat Orlando & Osceola is now offering new homeowners a way to celebrate their achievement with a virtual Home Celebration. Our first honoree was new homeowner Christina.

Homeowner Christina began her Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County homeowner journey in 2018. This mother of five juggled full-time work, parenting, and our partnership requirements – obtaining 200 hours of sweat equity and taking 17 homeownership classes. In March 2020, Christina achieved her dream of owning a safe, affordable home.

Watch Christina’s Home Celebration below:

Christina, we at Habitat Orlando & Osceola hope you and your family will enjoy a safe, happy home life in your new Habitat house!

We know that owning a safe home can transform a family’s future. Homeownership gives families with limited incomes the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty.

Once free from unsafe housing and rent hikes, homeowners can invest in themselves and their families. Homeowners can instead turn their attention to attaining higher education, better healthcare, and more.

Interested in becoming a homeowner? Visit the Criteria webpage to learn more about our program and its requirements: need, the ability to afford your Habitat home, and a willingness to partner with Habtiat Orlando & Osceola.
