PCL Construction has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County for over 20 years to help change people’s lives for the better through affordable housing.

“Habitat for Humanity is just a positive and great way for us to be part of the community,” said Cory Hrynyk, operations manager for PCL Construction. “A house creates a safe environment, and it creates independence, and we’re super excited to be part of the community in that respect.”

In September, a team from PCL joined us at our Silver Pines Pointe build site to present a $15,000 donation to affordable housing and help hang siding on a Habitat home under construction. This was in addition to the company’s generous donation of materials and labor to build an entire house for a family in five days at Builders Blitz in February 2022.

Social responsibility is an integral part of PCL’s mission, and its employees can’t wait to sign up to volunteer on Habitat’s build site.

“When we have these build days, we get such a huge positive response that we’ve had people that have traveled three and a half hours from their job sites and where they live to actually be a part of this of this great effort here,” Hrynyk said.

The volunteers worked on the house alongside a couple of future Habitat homeowners. Being able to speak with the folks who will benefit from their work inspired the team. “It really creates a sense of accomplishment in all of our staff,” he said.

Hrynyk encourages other organizations to partner with Habitat.

“You’re going to find out that this organization is definitely a game changer, and they definitely affect positively on the lives of lots of people in the community,” he said.
