In 2019, 23 Central Florida families closed on their Habitat home. We’d like to introduce you to them in this video:

Last year, Latisia, a health unit coordinator at a local hospital, achieved stability through homeownership for her two children as well as her two young cousins whom she adopted a few years ago. When asked about her motivation to become a homeowner, Latisia said, “I want better for my kids, so I did better. They now have the chance to experience something different.”

Michael and his three children will no longer have to move from house to house seeking a safe, affordable place to live. They have one now, thanks to Michael’s hard work in our homeownership program – and Habitat’s supporters, including the Orlando Magic. 

Jessica didn’t let two prior denials dissuade her from applying to Habitat’s homeownership program – and her persistence paid off. She and her daughter celebrated the holidays for the first time in their new home last year. 

In this uncertain time created by COVID-19, we want to help more families reach the security and stability that can be found in owning a home.  So far, nine local families have completed our program and closed on their Habitat home this year.
